2025 is a pivotal year for Zapier. After years of growth through a product-led motion, we're now scaling upmarket—and building a sales team positioned to lead that charge. It's a rare opportunity to join a high-impact sales team early in its journey, backed by a product customers love and a brand that's defining the AI orchestration space.
As companies work to automate more complex workflows and embed AI into their daily operations, Zapier is helping them move from experimentation to execution. Since launching our upmarket motion this year, our sales team has grown exponentially, with even more growth on the horizon. And we're just getting started.
How sales started at Zapier
Since 2011, Zapier has organically grown into a leader in automation and app integration, supporting customers through a fully self-serve model. People discovered Zapier through SEO, adopted the platform on their own, and became "automation heroes," builders who use automation to streamline their workflows and supercharge productivity.
While our product-led growth (PLG) motion remains a core part of our revenue engine, we recognized an opportunity to expand our reach through a sales-led growth (SLG) motion designed to serve a broader addressable market.
In October 2021, Zapier outlined a three-year strategy to pilot a sales-led approach and explore market-specific verticals. By 2022, we officially launched our sales team to support customers with more complex legal, security, and implementation requirements—those who had outgrown the self-serve model.
In 2024, we introduced our Enterprise offering, bundling several key solutions into one comprehensive software package.
Where we're going
2025 is a pivotal year for us. While we continue to drive high-volume deals through our self-serve model, we've also launched our upmarket sales team to engage a broader portion of our total addressable market. Our strategy focuses on building long-term partnerships to ensure customers realize the full value of Zapier—well beyond what our transactional, self-serve model provides.
We've made significant strides in our product roadmap, and we're continuing to invest to better serve our customers. In response to customer feedback, we've prioritized features like advanced governance controls, enhanced observability, stronger security and compliance capabilities, and expanded AI integrations.
Why do sales at Zapier?
Whether you're new to tech sales or are looking for ways to advance your career, here are a few reasons why joining the sales team at Zapier might be the right move.
We're in high-growth mode. Zapier is an AI orchestration company with minimal outside funding. We've only raised about $1.4 million in funding—which is a good thing—and we continue to grow every year.
You'll get to build. At our current stage, your work will have a meaningful impact on how we go to market and shape our product roadmap. I'll keep the list short, but if you're excited about helping craft sales playbooks, breaking into new verticals, or influencing what features make it into the product, Zapier could be the place for you.
It's mission-critical software. When I think about a company I want to work for, I ask myself: is this product a nice-to-have or a must-have? Zapier is the latter. It's a platform companies rely on to move data across their organization, automate key processes, and leverage AI to power critical business decisions. And it doesn't stop there. Zapier is a platform with nearly 8,000+ app integrations that can be used in various use cases across virtually every department—sales, marketing, HR, finance, operations, you name it.
My favorite use cases are the ones that empower go-to-market (GTM) teams—especially revenue leaders like myself—by automating coaching feedback through Zapier. We analyze Gong transcripts with AI and surface insights in Zapier Tables, helping managers scale enablement and drive more consistent, effective sales conversations.
AI is at the forefront. At Zapier, AI isn't just a buzzword—it's a core part of how we help customers optimize workflows, orchestrate systems, and supercharge their existing AI investments. With integrations to 300+ AI apps, customers use Zapier to generate code, create custom actions, recommend process improvements, and more. Zapier is at the forefront of helping companies evolve AI from a simple conversational tool into a functional extension of their applications.
We're power users. At Zapier, we fully embrace dogfooding because there's no better way to understand our customers' experience than by using the product ourselves. We rely on Zapier across our own operations to automate tasks, synchronize data across systems, and empower employees to leverage AI. This hands-on usage gives us a unique perspective on how our customers interact with and think about Zapier.
Curious about how you could help shape the future of automation and AI? We're hiring—come build with us.
